According to the USDA’s Food Recovery Hierarchy, the last thing we should
do with food waste is dump it in a landfill. Composting and creating fertilizers
and fuels rank high on the hierarchy --a preferred solution is to feed the
excess food to animals.

Every year the world throws away 1.3 billion tons of edible food.
This means that nearly 1/3 of the world’s food production ends up in landfills.
SAFE has the best solution.
The SAFE system consists of patented technologies that:
Assist in the segregation and efficient collection of food scraps at their source.
Collect and transport food scraps in specialized vehicles and/or containers.
Process food scraps into a high quality and nutrient-rich mash, for use as a key
ingredient in non-ruminant animal feed.
Result in approximately 90% of the materials collected in clean loads becoming feed meal /water /F.O.G. (Fats, Oils & Grease) and 10% becoming compost.
Every ton of feed SAFE produces displaces one ton of corn currently used in other feeds and saves over 1,000 tons of fresh water that would have been used for irrigation. SAFE is working to eliminate the methane created by decomposing food in landfills. Methane is a contributing factor to greenhouse gas pollution.
